Our December All-School Chapel was centered around the theme of light and dark: Diwali, Hanukkah, and Día de las velitas (Day of Little Candles) — all festivals with a central theme of light. Chaplain Kent and Mr. Grossman led the congregation in a canonic version of "Hine Ma Tov," which was fun. The Breck Chamber players performed Kurt Weil's Tango, a composition with themes that pull between dark and light. Students of all ages shared their traditions of Diwali and Hanukkah. Head of School Dr. Natalia Rico Hernández told us about the Colombian festival of Día de las Velitas, as she grew up in Bogota, Colombia. Thank you to all of our presenters and performers!
